A word a day week
domi
DO-mi · two spoken or sung notes · 1–3
- you
- yourself
Domi addresses you without forcing Solresol to ask whether that means one listener or a roomful.
Seven-note spelling
Say it, play it, flash it
- do1 · red
- mi3 · yellow
The binary sequence do–mi is the second-person pronoun, usable for singular or plural you and in reflexive constructions.
Gajewski’s grammar also shows a three-line staff and a special shorthand. Here, the notes appear on a modern treble clef. The C-major pitches are a playback choice; Solresol does not require absolute pitch.
Tiny sentence
Domi lasire domi.
you amuse you
“You amuse yourself.”
Adapted only by expanding the note names from Gajewski's reflexive-verb example; the repeated pronoun supplies the reflexive object.
There is a short pause between words. The C-major pitches are a playback choice.
Receipts
Sources and cautions
The grammar supplies the construction and the dictionary supplies the broad second-person gloss.
